Il-Kelma
Inżilt
f'qalb poeta,
dewwaqtu ftit ħlewwa,
urejtu li lesta
nissawwar fis-sewwa.
Hu lili roqomni,
ġħarbilni w ħaddimni,
skond ħsiebi ħakimni,
w riditu fasslitni.
Minn waħdi sibt ruħi
fi ġgajta ta' kliem,
li nħema fis-sabar,
u wassal għas-sliem.
Sliem: għan ta' poeta
li fittex jistrieħ
fil-ħlewwa tal-versi
li jonfħu bħar-riħ.
L-ISFREĠJU
TAL-WIED
M’ilux
wisq inżilt biex
nara
Dak
li smajt jien fuq il-wied,
Għax
qaluli l’hemm il-warda
Li
tnessini ftit l-inkwiet.
Qalu;
hemm l-għasfur jgħix ħieles,
W
il-gremxula ħsieb ix-xemx,
U
il-liedna ddur mal-qronfla,
U
dil-logħba ma tintmmx.
Ridt
insib dik il-mogħdija,
Ittikkjata
bil-ġarġir,
Illi
tofroq is-silenzju
U
twassalni sal-menħir
Illi
bnew missirijietna
Hajja
oħra,mhux bħal din.
Xħin wasalt ħolmieti għabu;
il-mogħdija
ma sibthiex;
kullimkien
kien hemm il-bini;
Arti
din,u m’għarafthiex.
Kif
se ngħidu ’l ta’ warajna
Illi
darba kien hawn wied;
Minnu
saret qerda sħiħa,
W
ħadd ma tkellem;żamm is-skiet?
