U ġibidni u niffidni

B’ħarsa waħda bidilni

Dlonk f’qalbi immarkani,

Ħtaft il-ħuġġieġa li tagħni

Qabad nar ġewwa fija

L-ilma far fin-nixxiegħa

U d-desert għeb

The thunder spoke, the land was shook
The rosy glass cracked nook to nook
The bubble burst, the core went cold
The bastions burnt, the soul was sold

Good at heart, believe in others
Kind Christians, have faith in brothers
I’ve spent my life all sweet ‘n’ kind
I now have found that I was blind

Behind the praise a deadly curse
Witness night dreams turn into mares
The lesson learnt, the heart is scratched
The damage done, the end is etched.  

 

Leave me

Leave me, 
let me creep under the shadows of my sadness and embrace 
my depressive mood, let me inhale the toxic fumes 
raised by my melancholic sighs, allow me to hear 
the beat of my dead heart till it drowns all else 
in a sea of indifferent tears to the world
Go away while I hug my embryonic 
frame wishing I could erase 
the time and subtract
the pain
year by
year
till I 
exist 
no
